After working with Sandy King Carpenter, John Carpenter and Mike Sizemore on the short horror tale The Posse, John asked Mike to take a look at an idea that he and Sandy had put together that needed developing into a bigger story. That idea was VORTEX – a sci-fi horror, blending elements of body horror, isolation and dealing with evil in the vast coldness of space. Mike brought me on board once again and now, four years later, we have just finished volume 2 of a story that I can safely say has been the best experience of my career to date. Working with John, Sandy, Mike, my brother Pete Kennedy on colouring and the amazing Janice Chiang on lettering has helped me refine my comic making processes and allowed me to focus on serving what I feel is Mike’s best story to date.
